Consumerism and Healthcare IT Innovations: Leveraging Technology for the Patients of Tomorrow

On November 17, 2008 the Center for IT Innovations in Healthcare (CITIH) held a summit titled Consumerism and Healthcare IT Innovations: Leveraging Technology for the Patients of Tomorrow at the Hilton Easton. And it was a resounding success. More than 225 CIOs, technology experts, healthcare providers and even the former governor of Kentucky attendedto discuss and learn that patients are a deciding influence in the healthcare
IT arena.

The highlights of the summit were the panel discussions with experts in IT and health care. This popular structure allowed the audience to be engaged in the conversation and provided an open dialogue about the many questions facing health care today and in the near future.

Along with a lunchtime Twitter demonstration, attendees were also treated to presentations by Microsoft and Cisco and were able to talk with some prominent technology vendors. A reception after the event allowed attendees to network with fellow colleagues and speakers.
